The war on Diwali fireworks is part of the cultural war on Hinduism, make no mistake about it. Bursting crackers with their friends on Diwali is one of the most memorable and exciting experiences for children, especially boys, in their formative years. It's one of the biggest
reasons why Non-Hindu or Secular celebrations like Christmas or New Year's Day have not been able to come even close to the sheer scale of Diwali celebrations. Even many Muslim & Christian children get some exposure to Hindu festivals because of the fun experience of bursting
firecrackers and this adds to the soft power of Hinduism as it then becomes a more relatable religion and culture for even many non-Hindus. Stripping away the culture of fireworks from Diwali will not only destroy much of the pull of the festival, but by extension, it will also
serve a devastating blow to Hindu cultural influence, both in the minds of Hindus as well as non-Hindus.
