Oh lord. Fox spinning the narrative that the polling industry is bad and that there was a forecasted landslide and all of this. They said that “Polls, pundits underestimate Trump.”

No. That’s now how it works.
I need for people to understand how polls work. Yes, there definitely needs to be better sampling. I think that the polls tend to favor larger population areas. But ALSO...there is a margin of error and the coverage I heard acknowledged the margin of error and closeness of it.
Fox really needs to operate on white grievance politics. Like that’s their lifeblood. If they can get white people stirred up and mad at some perceived slight.
And the thing is that the Democrats are all but entirely oblivious to why Fox and the Republican Party resonate with certain people. Joe just thinks he can dance into these “Red States” and sing kumbyah and it’s all going to be good.
Let me tell you a secret: I listened to conservative talk radio for YEARS. Not because I believed any of it, but because I found it entertaining. Until it wasn’t entertaining. Anyway, I learned a lot about the white conservative male psyche.
I wish that progressives and liberals would stop trying to appeal to logic and reason. They really don’t add about that. I don’t mean that condescendingly. They have a deep appreciation for narrative and knowledge and information being accessible.
What I mean is, a lot of them don’t care about your college degrees and your knowledge. They care about your ability to create a narrative in which they get to be the heroes of the story.
They value knowledge, but they also want what they feel is “common sense.” They have their thought leaders, they want intelligence, but intelligence that is earthy and approachable. And they want to feel like they can become you.
They fear outsiders. They fear people who have values that are different. If they don’t fear them they are at least suspicious. Democrats have become the intellectual and cultural elite and so they don’t relate to the values of red state America.
I could go on about all of the narratives and stuff that these people tell themselves.
