It's very hard to overstate how brilliant PGQC was. I watched him over two trials completely pull apart the arguments of the state as they asserted their contractual right to treat Postmasters "arbitrarily", "capriciously" and "irrationally".

He led the team that won the firat trial hands down, he saw off Lord Grabiner's attempt to get the judge sacked off the case. He fought with preparedness and spontaneous brilliance to close down the well-funded, but utterly bankrupt arguments advanced by the Post Office...

... and he did it with humour and aplomb. He is a very rare creature and i hope he continues to put his special powers to good use. I know we all have to take the shilling to make a living, but if you are good at what you do...
