Excellent column from @GustavoArellano. Hope more people can finally understand the point he's making.

Here are some areas where I disagree though, and I'd like to hear anyone's thoughts on them: https://twitter.com/GustavoArellano/status/1324084996697518080
How do you explain to the "the God-fearing abuelita who feared Sen. Kamala Harris would unleash a wave of abortions upon this land" that this is just a plain lie?

Abortion rate actually goes down significantly under Democratic presidents.

Is she actually persuadable?
How do you reach Latinos with hope when it was actually fear (of socialism, of economic demise, of other immigrants, of Antifa and countless other BS threats) that moved them further toward Trump and the GOP?

If they respond to fear, then Dems might actually have to go negative.
I think we're all much more cynical than in 2008 and even Obama and his rhetoric wouldn't produce the same results. We're angrier and more polarized. Biden tried his weak-salsa version of hope and it barely worked (against the worst POTUS ever).

Can a younger messenger deliver?
How can you explain the true benefits of socialist-adjacent policies to people that simultaneously hate Castro/Maduro but love a guy that acts just like them?

Are they truly gettable?
And the gloomiest question:

Can you really reach a significant swath of the 75 million people that witnessed the last 4 years of chaos and incompetence and cruelty and still pulled the lever for Trump?

Maybe I'm too dark rn, but going high when they go low just doesn't work.
