An example of neoliberalism pervades Welsh society is that over 100 public toilets have closed since 2010. Everything is seen in monetary terms. Public toilets don't add value. However, it has meant that many older people and those with disabilities have stopped shopping locally.
This may seem like a relatively banal example but it shows just how deep rooted the problem lies. It also shows how little thought is given to those with specific conditions and needs. Imagine not being able to go to the shop because you're worried of what might happen.
Neoliberalism not only found in macroeconomic policy, it is found in some of its more insidious forms in the changing of education policy, health policy, lack of bins, lack of access to green spaces, bad pavements so those in wheelchairs can't use them. The list goes on.
This photo for example while not being due to neoliberalism specifically, will not change because the logic of neoliberalism means that a parent and child accessing green spaces is not a priority. This is the same logic that allows bathrooms to be closed.
You can tell I've been writing about neoliberalism all day can't you
