Not in best form, but this eagerness to chip away at a player’s reputation is part of United’s problem.

The pressure on Man United players is beyond belief and has been for some time, even more so than say 10, 20 years ago. Social media impact has been huge, and much of general media now takes lead from that.

Everything is just so extreme, eagerly waiting for failure.

For United it’s more than other English clubs. Players aren’t allowed poorer periods of form, whilst still making an impact even, they’re dragged down from being the level of the player they are.

And then we wonder why there’s a confidence crisis. Continually. We’re part of it.
