Their CEO has some claims about the Portuguese government for creating 100 jobs
I have no idea about the claim but going to think it’s true. That’s unfortunate and hope they can fix it.

We didn’t create 100 jobs, but we created 50 plus.
I haven’t lived in Portugal for 15 years, so I’m a foreign entrepreneur.

The government has spoken to me about job creation zero times.
I got access to zero incentives or sugar deals
I understand they do this for big tech companies, but to me that wasn’t even a dialogue available

I’m not happy about it: as a not tech giant I am loosing in the battle for talent sponsored by my government
But Portugal is not the only government doing it, let’s just

That why all Portuguese tech companies are actually London or US based
Still people are grateful for what is great about Portugal. I am proud of my teams there. And thankful.

Because I’m Portuguese citizen I tried to follow the law but our competitors didn’t.
Certain companies which shall not be named followed processes that they can only afford to do because they are not in PT jurisdiction and can afford the lawyer fees.

This meant I lost team members cause I just couldn’t pay in the same way (ie. contract)

Now the founder of @cloudflare says Portuguese folks are liars.
That I don’t understand. Portuguese folks are super critical of themselves but we don’t take kindly to xenophobia
