I would like a senate majority as much as the next guy but I think we are forgetting in a world where Trump's out of office and senate Rs no longer have to hold his line specifically, new things become possible. Not everything, but not nothing.
We'll see but I suspect this overrates the appeal to electeds of them appearing to kowtow to the loser ex-president https://twitter.com/DavidL206/status/1324071657342820352
Remember, the appeal of Trump to them the past four years is that he had the magic electoral college winning formula
Truly I think we need a bit of optimism at this moment. This "if we don't win everything by a landslide all the time, we have effectively lost" attitude is exactly what Republicans would like you to think.
[GOP landslide]: "ugh the Dems couldn't even pull this off"

[GOP squeaker]: "ugh the Dems couldn't even pull this off"

[Dem squeaker]: "ugh the Dems couldn't even pull this off"

[Dem landslide]: "ugh the neoliberal project is ascendant"
I want to be in the party that takes razor thin margins and is like "hell fucking yes"
Really I cannot say enough: we are on the cusp of throwing out a president who gets on stage every day and is like "it's important we don't care about the disease, because I am busy skimming money off foreign powers. anyway here is my idiot son in law" and you all are despondent!
"We didn't create utopia in one electoral cycle, in which votes are still coming in, therefore I fail to see how it is possible to make any progress at all" is not a ideological approach I want any part of https://twitter.com/wb_thorne/status/1324085379843215362
