Just a few general details and history before I get into the meat and potatoes of the spooky stuff:
- Building was completed and opened in 1999.
- Our property and building belonged to a Church Camp which still surrounds the property
on both sides, prior to my company purchasing it. I believe the Church has had the whole property since maybe the 70s.
- Our building sits near an active natural creek.
- Obviously, lots of people have died there.

Bigfoot, I’m typically a “skeptical believer”. I believe the shit is real, but it’s super important to debunk anything and everything because the more you can debunk, the more you’re unable to explain what’s occurring.

When I started at my facility four years ago I was almost
instantly told by some staff and some residents about “The Girl in the Red Coat” and “kids in the hallways at night.” Me, being the “new guy” just thought these people were trying to get a reaction out of me.

I didn’t think much of it and went about my business rebuilding a
badly neglected department and staff. So I dove head first into work and didn’t pay too much attention to anything outside of my bubble for the first year I was there.

residents who had only been at my facility for less than the year I’d been there, talking about “The Girl in the Red Coat” (TGRC) and “kids in the hallways at night.” I’ve been in LTC since I was 16, I’ve gone to countless seminars and trainings, I’m a pretty good judge of
someone’s cognitive abilities. And I noticed that *most* of the people experiencing this *knew* what they had seen.
They would describe hearing children in the hallways at night laughing, having their doorknobs rattled, little feet running up and down the hall, and when they
They would describe hearing children in the hallways at night laughing, having their doorknobs rattled, little feet running up and down the hall, and when they
would come out of their rooms to investigate they wouldn’t find anything, *or* they would see a child peeking around the hallway corner at them.

My first hand, personal accounts
have been limited. I’ve caught small shadows out of the corner of my eye in the evenings, things constantly disappearing and then reappearing in the most ridiculous places. And the luck of our building is laughably sitcom terrible. Anything that can go wrong structurally or
strategically in the place, goes wrong. This has led me to tell everyone the place is built on a native burial ground.

About a year ago I was walking past two residents, one who had recently moved in and I overheard their conversation about things going missing in their rooms
and the resident who had recently moved in said “Well it’s probably those kids here at night.” The other commented that she too had seen a little girl in a red coat several times at night. Being a nosey manager I butted right in and asked them when exactly this happened because
no kids should be in the building at night, thinking *possibly* someone in 3rd didn’t have a babysitter. When I checked the schedule and spoke with the DON, no one on third shift even has kids, let alone small ones.

During the summer I was sitting with our Activity Director who
has become a close friend of mine, when one of the residents came up to her desk (it was maybe 3pm) and yelled at us to get the children out of her room. Her and I looked at each other like “here we go” and we got up and went to her room. We told her “we don’t see anyone in here”
and she responded by saying, “they’re gone now, but they keep singing! Stop them singing!” This has happened three or four times to the same resident.

The Activity Director (AD) picks up nursing aide shifts here and there for extra money, and she worked this past Halloween on
third shift. She tells me she gets a call from “Kathy’s” room. Kathy has been a resident since I started there 4 years ago who has been steadily declining the last few months. Kathy has been seeing the children A LOT lately, like a few times a week. So AD goes into Kathy’s room
and Kathy is trying to rip the blinds off of the window to yell at the kids playing outside. AD tries to calm Kathy down, and Kathy begins to rip at her nightgown yelling “THE UNDERTAKER IS LATE! HE WAS OUT DRINKING WITH THE MEN, AND I’M SUPPOSED TO BE CREMATED TODAY!
She pointed to her empty couch and yelled “LOOK, MY PARENTS AND MY HUSBAND (all deceased) ALL CAME TO MY CREMATION AND I’M NOT READY. EVERYONE IN *local city* IS GOING TO LAUGH AT ME!”
Well that was enough to freak out AD to go get the nurse. They are able to semi calm her down

by telling her they will call the undertaker and postpone her cremation.

empty your trash?” Kathy says nonchalantly “No. The little boy came into my room last night and cut his fingers off with scissors. I need them to clean up the blood and fingers.”

I don’t know if the activity has increased over the years or that I’ve notice it more? It went from
hearing about it a few times a year, when I started, to now, where there’s at least one or two experiences A WEEK from staff or residents.

I’ve only recently become fascinated with this because, A. My job is basically the only place I go anymore, and B. Because the experiences
of the witnesses are all similar and are obviously increasing with frequency. I really haven’t researched the history of the area but I’m thinking about starting.

As I said earlier, we are about 9 miles from the notorious Gore Orphanage, but I don’t know if spirits travel that
far? The creek that runs near our building I’m pretty sure is an offshoot from a river near the orphanage and I’ve always read that naturally running water acts as a magnet for spirits. Added to the fact the building always has residents nearing the end of their lives.
