In anticipation of #yegcc talking st. speeds today, we drove around testing out the current default (50), what we’re moving to (40), & what we should be moving to (30 - based on science, data, facts, saving lives, etc. etc.) #yeg

40 Vision *Fewer*
50 NoVision™

50 felt terrible and uncomfortable and I hated it. No time to react. Anxiety was high. Don’t want to do that again. Who the heck is driving this speed in nbhds right now?

30 by far felt the best, but I guess we’ll take 40 because...politics.

Watching this it might be hard to tell the difference between the 3 (your travel time is barely affected), but to pedestrians, cyclists, & other vulnerable road users it’s HUGE.

Edmontonians deserve to navigate their communities without fear of death or injury from vehicles.
