people in cities voted for trump. people with college degrees (sometimes multiple) voted for trump. people with lgbtq and/or poc friends/family voted for trump. y’all keep clinging to the uneducated redneck trump supporter narrative bc it’s easy but it’s false and unproductive

this narrative lets you think that education or exposure to different ppl like in a city is what will dissolve something as deeply ingrained and complex as white supremacy in this country. recognize that a lot of ppl just don’t care, bc capitalism prioritizes individual wealth

and the bootstrap mindset that induces fear of losing this individual wealth (ie from higher taxes from a democrat) sits at the forefront of people’s minds compared to the socio-political rights and well-being of others

most people i know of who voted for trump don’t even like him and would prefer a different republican candidate but the two-party system is enough for them to stay voting republican even when joe is moderate/conservative asf
