So people have been buried in the same "holy ground" from the 3rd century AD to the 9th century AD...Even though "barbarians overrun the Roman Balkans, killed everyone and replaced the population" according to the history books...How come?
Oh, the tradition of burying people into the same cemetery in Viminacium continued after the 9th century. There are another two medieval graveyards from 12th-14th century, both located around the remains of ancient Roman mausoleums...
Officially: "Probably considered to be sacral objects by local medieval population". Why? If there was a population replacement in the Balkans during the "dark ages"....Surely Slavic tribes didn't give a sh*t about Roman holy sites, and particularly Roman graves...
