Animal Sacrifice a thread .
[Read whole]
Note : I'm making this thread for educational purposes and in defence of my Sampradaya.
I will debunk following misconceptions people have :
1. Any animal can be sacrificed
2. We can kill animals for pleasure whenever we want to
3. Animal sacrifice is not part of Hinduism
4.Every sampradaya follows same beliefs .
Ramanuja's commentary on gita 2.31 talks about animal sacrifice refering it as agnisomya and quotes taittriya brahmana
Brahma sutra bhashya 3.1.25 by Adi Shankarcharya defends Animal sacrifice since it is allowed by scriptures .
Devi bhagavat purana 3rd canto 26 th chapter says those who eat meat can do animal sacrifice .
[Note these verses are censored in gita press version]
Kalika purana chapter 55 gives a list of animals which can be sacrificed to devi maa
Further kalika purana explains how sacrifice is to be done and says these animals were created for sacrificed and killing in sacrifice is non killing.
Vishnu smriti 51.61-67 talks about animal Sacrifices and supporting above posted snippets.
But . Vishnu smriti clearly forbids unprovoked , needless killings of animals
Further Vishnu smriti explains importance of being veg
Eating meat without offering is also a problem
The above verse is supported in Manusmriti 5.32
Now you will understand that eating meat for pleasure , taste and animal sacrifice are different.
I'm not gonna force you to support pashubali but today it is targeted tomorrow your sampradaya's practice can be targeted as well.
Every Sampradaya has its own rules , texts , traditions , rituals. Random dudes sitting on that side of twitter can't cancel them .
I respect your sampradaya and your Acharya's beliefs . I will let you be the judge of this practice . But is giving abuses and wishing deaths on someone necessary?
Some people may say animal sacrifice is banned in kali yuga .

This is a debatable issue among hindus . We don't need to drag non Hindus in it.

first of all do any shakta text or tantra say it clearly?
