Stop romanticising Canada, New Zealand and Australia, as safe spaces and saviours, when they’re colonies too, and Indigenous people continue to suffer, die and are murdered.
White supremacy is international love. Let’s not lie to ourselves
Please, in this colony y’all call “Australia” 400+ Blackfullas have died in custody since the royal commission into Aboriginal deaths in custody in 1991... they’ve destroyed our sacred sites... they sent body bags to communities instead of essentials at the start of the pandemic
I’m not stopping y’all going nowhere. I just don’t like y’all romanticising these colonies. Y’all gonna get hit with hard truths when you arrive to these places because what you imagined doesn’t match what you’ll live. Racism is worldwide. Indigenous erasure is worldwide.
Indigenous genocide is worldwide. Anti-Blackness is worldwide. These are just facts.
Nah, please don’t come in my mentions angry at the truth. Like yes we’re dying, Indigenous genocide and anti-Blackness is worldwide and you’re angry at me for saying that? Maybe be angry at the people perpetuating violence and responsible for white supremacy?!!
I’m sorry I didn’t sugarcoat our truths?!? All of our history and truths are real and valid and why should we twist them to make you feel happy and safe?
I will not lie to you about what happens now and what happened to our ancestors just so you can feel ‘better’. What I can do is direct you to orgs and grassroots folks you can help to make these places safer if you do end up going to these places.

And as always LAND BACK
Appreciate my words or work you can buy me a coffee or commission me. But also, I have some great fundraisers on my timeline you can check out.

Again, no one is stopping you from going anywhere lol. Just stop erasing Indigenous people and anti-Blackness from what you imagine these places to be like... Racism is still real. No matter how “progressive” the government/people are.
Also please define progressive... what do you think that is? To be progressive?
The way y’all compare countries unprovoked... there is no need to compare. It doesn’t make genocide less bearable. All these things happened. Acknowledge them.
Also these facts don’t negate our relationship with the land or our people. I still love my people and the land. I will always have a distinct and amazing relationship with both. I can love it here but hate the colony and what comes with it. A lot of folks do.
Last thing: please continue to fight for Indigenous people no matter where you go. I think that should be the main take away. That you’re welcome here to seek safety but help us resist. Help us survive. Because imagine if we were able to look after our land and govern it
Imagine what we could do together if white supremacy wasn’t here. I think that should be the goal. Decolonisation and abolition.
and if you ever bump into me, I am happy to teach you to fish and swim and how to weave x how good would it be to just... exist
Y’all immediate response to not help Indigenous people is worrying... y’all not willing to help Indigenous people whilst living on their land and profiting off their erasure and sitting comfortably and being content in a colony committing genocide is worrying.
