1) Compares herd immunity of a respiratory virus not to other respiratory viruses, but to Ebola and HIV. This is scientifically illiterate. Total nonsense. Failure of virology 101 nonsense.
2) Repeats the false claim that herd immunity requires 60-70% infection rate. I have yet to see someone with expertise agree with this when pressed on it. Everyone agrees on heterogeneity, the dispute is how low HIT is.
3) Claims that at risk people would have to be shielded for "several years". This is so crazy I do not know what to say. It gets worse. He then cites an IFR for everyone else based on an IFR that includes the at risk people that would be shielded. Another basic error.
4) He then uses this inflated IFR, multiplied by the inflated herd immunity rate, to claim very large deaths would be required. The math here seems to be derived from something George W. Bush would have used to justify his tax plans.
5) Far from a "devastating take down", this is an embarrassing display of the lack of good faith and poor arguments. It lacks any grounding in reality, with comparisons to totally different viruses and numbers completely made up.
