the brilliance of satoru gojo, a thread:
it’s become clear that many think gojo is simply strong, and has nothing else going for him. let’s take a look at some of the things that make gojo a great character besides that overwhelming power of his
his dream:

from the beginning gojo makes his goals known. he hates the current state of the jujutsu world. the elders are more concerned with preserving their power and traditions than cultivating young shamans. so what does gojo want to do? take it upon himself to groom the
next generation, teach them the flaws with the current system, so they can one day help him change the foundation of jujutsu society. he has the power to wipe out everyone in charge. but he knows doing this would simply lead to replacements who share their values.
connection to his students:

gojo is an excellent teacher. he cares for his students, knows them all well and wants them to live fulfilling lives. there’s a reason they flashback to his training in the middle of battle. he calls it like it is, tells them exactly what’s wrong
and what they need to do in order improve on themselves. he cultivates them not only as shamans, but as people as well. because he knows them so well, he gives them each training thats personalized for their strengths and efficiently grows them all in their own ways
his impact:

a major side effect came from gojo simply being born: the jujutsu world was thrown off balance. his presence became a huge deterrent to curses who want to wreak havoc and curse users who want to profit off that havoc. curses became hesitant, in fear of him,
as well as curse users. no one wanted a piece. his status as the strongest kept major problems in check for years. even his allies have been kept in check. yuji and yuuta were saved from being executed because the elders didn’t want to directly oppose gojo.
getwo makes sealing away gojo a priority to balance the scales again. even politically, gojo is the reason his family has retained its status. his absence is going to cause a dynamic shift within the clans. the elders can do as they see fit now, and keep society in their mold
satoru because he’s the strongest? or the strongest because he’s satoru?:

gojos strength comes with a huge burden. he can’t save everyone, even if he’s unbeatable. this brings up a question. what makes someone strong? when physical strength isn’t enough to save someone, is there
another type that is? does gojo have this type of strength if exists? does gojos strength make him, or is he strong because he made himself strong? geto posing this question gave gojo a lot to think about, and is most likely the reason he won’t outright kill the elders for his
goals. it set him in the process of finding out who he is behind all that strength, one he’s still in today. i believe this is where most of gojos future growth will come, with him slowly but surely finding who he is, and using that experience to help his students do the same.
in conclusion, gojo has a lot more going on than simply being strong, and whenever he’s back, he’ll simply become more layered and fleshed out as character. sorry for putting you through this long ass rant of mine, you a real one if you stuck thru to the end✊🏾
