1/ For Iranians it's the most consequential US election in four decades. They are following every twist & turn, every poll as if their lives depend on it--their livelihood & economy certainly does.

2/ Trump win spells more "maximum pressure" of sanctions & isolation & tension. Biden win viewed as de-escalation, hope for sanctions relief & engagement.
Still...Iranians are divided.

3/ Many Iranians rooting for Biden & for Iran-US relations to stabilize. Sanctions have depleted economy, devalued currency & shrunk purchasing powers. Four more years of this seems untenable.
But some Iranians want Trump to win hoping the economic pressure will topple regime.

4/ Outcome of US election could influence who will be the next president of Iran. To counter Trump, a hardliner & IRGC candidate is more likely. To engage Biden, a more moderate candidate might emerge.
