Lemme air some immigrant dirty laundry: a lot of us are SUPER fucking racist. Every immigrant group through the door wanted to be the last immigrant group through the door. Every group in America defines “real Americans” as ending with them. Every group that came after sucks.

And because every group got racist shit coming through the door and they wanted to seem SUPER PATRIOTIC PLEASE LET US STAY, every group turns around and starts hurling racist crap at the next group.

So it’s not surprising to see immigrants voting for Trump. As my own immigrant Trump-voting parents said to me “Oh, he doesn’t mean US.” But not only is that wrong, it’s a really shitty definition of “us.”

Growing up in an immigrant community, all the shop-owners made sure they had campaign posters of the most racist candidates in their shop windows. Not only to be accepted in the neighborhood, but because they were super racist too.

And before you ask, my immigrant group is the MOST PROBLEMATIC of them all. Portuguese. We invented modern slavery. If you are African-American there is a more than 0% chance that our ancestors met, and that your ancestors were free before they met my ancestors. But not after.
