Going to do a thread of (Stoic philosopher and Roman Emperor) Marcus Aurelius quotes because I need them and maybe you do too. They were written as the peace of the Roman Empire was beginning to crumble, through war and plague. Often composed in his tent at night after battle.
"Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present."
"You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realise this, and you will find strength."
“Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them.”
“If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.”
"The universe is change; our life is what our thoughts make it."
“When another blames you or hates you, or people voice similar criticisms, go to their souls, penetrate inside and see what sort of people they are. You will realize that there is no need to be racked with anxiety that they should hold any particular opinion about you.”
“Look well into thyself; there is a source of strength which will always spring up if thou wilt always look.”
“The best revenge is not to be like your enemy.”
“Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one.”
“Do not indulge in dreams of having what you have not, but reckon up the chief of the blessings you do possess, and then thankfully remember how you would crave for them if they were not yours.”
“How ridiculous and how strange to be surprised at anything which happens in life”
“The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.”
And lastly, his advice to leave Twitter and switch off rolling news when you need to:

“For it is in your power to retire into yourself whenever you choose.”
Bye for now friends, Romans, and Twitterfolk.
