I became infamous as fuck in high school.

What I learned will change how you talk to others.

// A THREAD //
Junior year, I read a feminist article in the school paper.

Ya boi typed a rebuttal on his blog.

Title was something like:

Delusional Feminist Tries To Attack Patriarchy, Fails Miserably.
(Honest to God, I was that cringe)

Posted the link on IG & it spread like the Rona.

Her friends called me an a**hole.

Kids commented on the blog.
Ended up in guidance & met with the Vice Principal.

He said take it down or spend time in ISS.

Now, here are the lessons:
1) You won't change minds

Trying to change a mind with facts = telling someone they're wrong.

People don't like that.

You're attacking their worldview (& them in a way).

Deep beliefs = Identity
Give people food for thought instead.

You influence people in talks, you can't change them.

The change always happens on their end.
2) Let shit go

You want to be happy?

Move along & stop addressing everything.
Let ignorant remarks go.

Your job is to make the most of life.

You can't do that if you're always on the attack.

End the conversation. Or avoid it entirely.
3) Think long

I saw this girl nearly every day.

We even got paired up for an assignment (oof).

After that year though, shit was irrelevant.
Imagine we worked at a company though....

I get hit with a harassment charge for that stunt.

That shit follows me.
That's the thing with words & actions:

You can't take them back.

So think beyond this moment.

This day.

This week.
A great conversation today can plant seeds of friendship.

Talking out of your ass today can plant seeds of destruction.
Last lesson (saved da best for last):

4) Have less political talks

They're divisive ((Remember Lesson 1)).

Not worth losing connections & people over.

Talk about nature. Your dreams. The meaning of life.
We're social creatures.

We need fulfilling conversation.

The Big Four can help you with that.
