I had some exploratory surgery and a scrape about 25 years ago - but there was no follow up (despite me asking) and then a few years later I moved to UK. I had been told I have PCOS - and to basically get on with it .... 2/7
Things got exponentially worse at start of lockdown - won’t get into detail here - but if you are worried and would like to know hit me up with a message and I’ll DM you. Spoke to GP - utterly frantic at this stage was sent for bloods and told I would need a scan ... 3/7
Am still waiting for a date from NHS - so went private (have cover with work) my appointment was yesterday- they gave me a scan on the spot - took more bloods. Scan showed as well as my messed up ovaries, I have fibroids ... 4/7
Including one that looked like a baby - taking up a massive amount of space in there - will have a procedure to properly clear everything out - and a couple of other bits - and ultimately have a coil fitted 5/7
I should have pushed earlier - I should have demanded they listen to me - I shouldn’t have put off with being told it was normal. This is a regret of mine - I have gone through hell with this - so ... don’t let you, or your friends or daughters be fobbed off ... 6/7
Make them hear you - too often women are not listened to - am just glad we have options - GP had casually said I might need a hysterectomy ... have been so so stressed - force second opinions - just don’t assume your doctor knows best when it comes to your health 7/7 x
