As a reporter, it’s not my business to decide the direction of political parties, or to pick which party whose processes I want to participate in.
And I want to minimize the amount of time that I’m covering politicians about whom I’ve made a decision. I’m constantly taking in new information about candidates, but consciously avoid making JUDGMENTS until the last possible moment.
