A couple of weeks later in February I traveled to the South Carolina primaries on a separate @AmericanU #Election2020 experiential learning project led by @BFischerMartin @lynneperri #MollyORourke. We attended a @CNN Town Hall w/Democratic candidates #Vision2020Nation @AU_SOC

During the SC primaries I met @AmericanU grad @itsdshawna, national Black outreach director for @ewarren, at a Black History Month program that doubled as a Black voter campaign event. Tony award winner @AnikaNoniRose stumped for Warren #Election2020 #Vision2020Nation @AU_SOC

The next day in SC I took students to a Trump rally. I heard him say #COVID19 was the Democrats latest hoax. Two weeks later he issued a #COVID19 national emergency proclamation. The following day during the SC primaries I took students to a taping of @amjoyshow, arranged an interview w/ @WhipClyburn & brief meeting w/host @JoyAnnReid who also spoke to my race & media class 5 years earlier @WakeForest #Election2020 #Vision2020Nation @AU_SOC @AmericanU

. @WhipClyburn’s endorsement of @JoeBiden changed the course of the Democratic primary and history. @AmericanU students got a great opportunity to interview him #Election2020 #Vision2020Nation @AU_SOC

Back at the hotel my Mississippi homie Dr. Jennifer Gunter, director of the South Carolina Collaborative on Race and Reconciliation @UofSC, spoke w/students about changing demographics in SC & a growing progressive movement there #Election2020 #Vision2020Nation @AU_SOC @AmericanU

Later that night I was at the @TomSteyer headquarters where I waited for the South Carolina primary returns w/students. Administrator of Turntables @SCDJWorm803 had it poppin in there and was showin’ out w/the ‘90s cuts #Election2020 #Vision2020Nation @AU_SOC @AmericanU
