So I call BS on Anthony Lynn not wanting to get rid of Gus Bradley. I think it's inevitable at the end of the season.

It starts with this audio clip from Week 17 of the 2019 season. Lynn wants the Chargers to change it up and stop letting the dink and dunk happen:
Then of course you flash forward to the offseason and the Chargers make enough moves to allow Bradley to do whatever he wants.

Upgrade at CB
Upgrade at NT
Trade up for Murray
Sub Tranquill for Davis

Basically, out of excuses. The Chargers were set almost everywhere.

But...
...not everything goes according to plan. This part is in defense of Bradley...at FIRST. No offseason to properly install and losing James and Tranquill for the entire year sucks. Then losing Ingram, Jones, Harris. Bosa/Hayward hurt on occasion. It's tough.

So he got a pass.
But there are lapses. The dink and dunk continues vs Brady and Brees

Two big leads. Two blown leads.
Not only that but the Chargers were not and are still not generating turnovers, which Lynn wanted (who doesn't?).

But again, there's a pass pre-BYE when they're out of players and Bosa has one arm.

THEN it falls apart.
The players are back healthy. Sure it's not EVERYONE. But you're facing Lock and Minshew.

Everything Lynn has more control improved vs DEN: Run game, points scored @ DEN (their best since 2011). No fumbling. 30 points and they LOST.
And now Lynn wants to be hands-on with the defense. He wants change he's wanted for a year.

I think he's sick of it like we are. He wanted change. Telesco got him the players for change. But everything looks the same and results the same.

Blown leads and no turnovers.
Anthony Lynn thought before the season he would model Herbert's development like the Chiefs did with Mahomes.

You know what else? I think he wants what KC does on defense with far less talent. Be aggressive. Get turnovers.

He'll defend Gus publicly but...
...I think he knows he wants Bradley outta there.

And honestly, Bradley is hurting Lynn's job security. If anything Lynn could want to fire him selfishly.

So, is he fired mid-season? Mmaayyybbee not. But I think he's gone at the end of the year.

Thoughts?
