A reminder that the best case tonight is that Biden wins early and overwhelmingly, Trump slinks away as a pouty, sore loser, does minimal damage between now and January, and the US goes back to being regular bad, not super bad.
Fun fact: the presidential inauguration used to be March 4th, but it was moved to January in 1933, in large part to reduce impediments to governance. https://www.loc.gov/item/today-in-history/march-04/
