No passes for these cowards who stood by silently while the leader of their party openly sought to shred the constitution and the rule of law. They’ve demonstrated who they are with their silence.
Assuming personal responsibility for one’s actions used to be a conservative value. It’s important that the “thoughts and prayers” quietly anti-Trump GOP caucus be held to their own standards.
After they vote for the bills to protect voting rights for all, and work to undo the most egregiously minoritarian features of our political system, then I’m happy to welcome them back into the political fold.
But until then, no quarter for those who would so blithely watch as their political party sought to pervert and/or destroy the American political ideal of popular sovereignty, or rule by the people.
