Today was the kovil thiruvizha. LM clarified that this was not the annual festival but Mazhai kodai, function to pray to village goddess for good rain so that the village pond fills up.

There are three temples involved in this festival: 21 madaswamy temple(first 2photos), kamatchi amman temple and easwari amman temple.
First poojai happens at 21 madaswamy kovil. As every function, they make pongal.
Then people move to kamatchi amman temple where saami kondati's go into trance and start dancing.

After archanai, they move to easwari amman temple.
Function continues there.
Once the archanai ends, temple saami comes around with archanai plate and the saami kondati's distribute thiruneer.
Now we wait... Sama kodai starts at 11pm. So the whole village watches... a movie.

This thee pandham will be taken around the village, temple well, temple tree and will come back to this temple.
Thee pandham is back and handed over to thalathaan saami, our village's frontier protector.
