Outside a polling location in #Philadelphia a Black man came out frustrated, asking a poll worker if the state has a #voterID requirement. He said as went to vote he was asked to show his ID. He‘s been voting since he was 18 and is 53, says this hasn’t happened before.
In response, the poll worker escorted him back inside and said they would work to see what happened.
I’ve seen similar instances unfold while reporting in #NorthCarolina... there’s an important lesson from the actions of this Philly man: if you see something SAY SOMETHING. If you sense something is not right, speak up to a representative at your polling site.
FWIW, according to #VotesPA: “When voting at a polling place for the first time, you must show proof of identification, either with photo or not.” Learn more: https://www.votespa.com/Register-to-Vote/Pages/Voter-ID-for-First-Time-Voters.aspx#
