I’ve mentioned this before, but today it feels worth mentioning again.
My late mother grew up in and never left Western PA, and therefore was obligated by birth to be a huge Steeler fan, and she was.

Being the nervous type, she could only watch the games where the Steelers had a solid, near insurmountable lead going into the 4th quarter. Otherwise, she couldn’t take the tension. As you can imagine, she missed A LOT of 4th quarters, and wished she’d missed even more. 2/
It was sort of a running joke in the family. Even from 3000 miles away, I’d be watching the Steelers blow a lead and mutter, “Well, I know Mom just turned this one off.” 3/
And she missed a fair number of thrilling games that way, bc she left before the entire game was played.
I love my dear mom, but don’t be like her today. 4/

The game isn’t over. No one has won yet. Every minute counts. Every play counts. Every vote counts. Stay all the way through, don’t leave early no matter how nerve-wracking or how safe you think the lead is.
But, have faith in your favorite team. /fin
