I just wish the Instagram models who sexualize the hijab would at least take accountability, you’re adhering to a religious obligation, the least you could do is not do suggestive poses, wear lingerie over your clothes etc, respect the hijab, it’s not a fashion statement
It’s not fair to say “why do you care, it’s not your life” when you have a large platform and you’re normalizing a very hypersexualized version of hijab when the actual purpose of hijab is to preserve modesty in a woman and is an act of worship
It’s not fair because you have younger girls who look up to you, who now think a Muslim woman gets to pick however she chooses to dress up when Allah swt has explicitly set certain standards that must be met in how we cover ourselves up, it absolutely is not my body nor my choice
You have a huge responsibility, you will be questioned about this, you’ll be asked about your role in another persons misguidance, how can you stand in front of Allah and be even remotely accountable for another person falling into sin?
No justification you provide in this life will hold value on that day, it’s not worth it girls, understand your responsibility to your identity as a Muslim comes first, strive to be better and strive to observe the hijab for Allah, and Allah alone.
