Wrote these for a friend on Facebook - on the off-chance you are, or are talking to, a Trump voter who is open to changing their mind, here are 21 talking points for voting for Biden. (Based on my experiences phone banking, canvassing, etc.)

1. Boring: A vote for Biden is a vote for politics to go back to background noise. Aren't you sick of everything being about politics, all of the time?

2. Pandemic: A vote for Biden is a vote for a different approach to ending the pandemic. We know that if Trump remains in charge, it will get worse. Biden has a plan. Trump doesn't.

3. Money: A vote for Biden is a vote to protect tax-payers' money. Trump owns almost a billion dollars to various lenders, many coming due in the next few years. Do you trust that he won't try to use tax-payer money to pay some of those personal loans back?

4. Racists: A vote for Biden is a vote against racists - surely you're against racism. While not all Trump supporters are racist, all of the white supremacy group leaders support Trump. Why be on the same side as them?

5. If the person is white: Vote for Biden in solidarity. We talk and wonder about what we'd do as white people during the Civil Rights Movement. Voting for Biden is a chance to side with John Lewis. To side with Black Americans and bend MLK's arc towards justice.

6. If the person is not disabled and has a loved one who is disabled: Vote for Biden in solidarity. Disability advocates - for whom voting is literally a matter of life or death - support Biden. Voting for Biden can help make sure [loved one]'s future is protected.

7. If the person is straight and has a queer or trans loved one: Vote for Biden in solidarity. In case you missed it, two of the Supreme Court justices have signaled they're willing to overturn marriage equity. A Biden administration can work to ensure that doesn't happen.

7A: Courts. Trump has packed the courts with right-wing judges. Voting for Biden is voting to bring equality to the courts, to return them to a place where the ranks of judgeships reflect diverse schools of thought, not just the beliefs of one political party.

8. Empathy: I'm not crazy about Biden either. But, a cool thing about him is that he knows how to put the right people in the right position. Have you seen the superstars working on and advising his campaign? And only a few are liberals - most are moderates, old-school Dems.

9. GOP: Vote for Biden because he's supported by thousands, if not millions, of Republicans. Did you see that the Republican governor from PA endorsed him? If even lifelong GOPs won't support the GOP nominee, you know he's a bad call.

10. Asshole: You know Trump is an asshole. You may even like that he's an asshole to other people. He's going to keep being an asshole. But maybe it's time we stop letting assholes run the government?

11. Dog: The man doesn't own a dog. The man doesn't even like dogs. A vote for Biden is a vote to put dogs back in the White House. Biden has two dogs: Major and Champ. They're adorable. And adopted!

12. Harris: America wasn't ready for a woman president in 2016. Don't you think, though, it's time for a woman vice president? Voting for Biden is voting for Harris.

13. Fairness: Right now, the Republicans are trying to invalidate millions of votes around the country. They know - and we all know - he's not going to win the popular vote, just like 2016. Why vote for a man who can only get elected by getting votes tossed out?

14. Economy: "The data show that, since World War II, the economy has performed substantially better under Dem presidents. On average, real GDP has grown about 1.6 times faster under Ds than under Rs." Those aren't my words. That's from the Joint Economic Committee in the Senate.

15. If the person identifies as anti-abortion or "pro-life": I know ending abortion is important to you. Abortion rates go down under Dem presidents because the economy and health care access improve. Voting for Biden is a vote to ensure more people feel they can raise a child.

16. Democracy: When historians and political scientists look at what's happening, they see parallels to what happened in countries before autocratic rule. Biden isn't perfect. Voting for him is a hitting the pause button. To stop things from getting worse.

17. Music: The Beastie Boys. Taylor Swift. Eminem. One thing they have in common is they don't license their music. They've done it once, to support one presidential candidate. That candidate is Biden.

18. Own the libs: I know that you don't like liberals. Biden is the least liberal candidate to emerge from the primary. He isn't what we want. We're willing to vote for him. I'm sure Trump isn't what you want. Why not vote for the guy none of us really want?

19: Good guy: Biden sees himself as a good guy. That means he's going to work across the aisle. You can still get what you want without Trump.

20: Court cases: Vote for Biden is a vote to protect judicial independence. Trump is currently facing several cases where he's been accused of sexual assault. He's already tried once to use government resources to defend him. Do you trust that he won't do it again?

21: TV: You may have first heard of Trump because of his TV show. He loves being on TV. That's why he did a dozen rallies in the last few days. He wants to be on TV. Vote for Biden so Trump can go back on TV.
