Hey. Today, I tweet for all of us whose vote has been suppressed by one method or another -- in my case because it would mean putting my name and address in a public database where everyone and anyone can find it easily.
And it seems like everyone is screaming "go vote" like we don't KNOW, like it's not knowing that voting is civic participation in the governance of the nation that stops us from casting that ballot.
When the realities are complex -- the polling places are not accessible, we can't afford to lose our jobs, abusive family members will not allow us to cast ballots, we can't afford the risk of our registration data being public, etc etc.
I see you. I acknowledge you, and hold you in my heart. I know you're not stupid or malicious. I know there are a million ways to suppress a vote, and most of them never mentioned. I see you. You're not alone.
