It's Election Day.
1,456 days have passed since the fateful day when Donald Trump was elected to the Presidency.
On that day, I didn't think there was any chance that he would win. I voted through early voting the week prior, and had continued my tradition of voting 3rd party.

On that day, I didn't think there was any chance that he would win. I voted through early voting the week prior, and had continued my tradition of voting 3rd party.
I remember watching the results come in, and thinking that it wasn't possible. How was he winning? How did he win? I remained calm. Surely he couldn't be as bad as his campaign made us all think he would be. He'd have adults in the administration to temper his worst instincts.
I told my family and friends who were concerned that we should stay calm and see what happens.
We all know what actually happened. He wasn't reigned in. He wasn't tempered. He wasn't measured. His worst instincts were unleashed.

I started this Twitter account a little over two years ago so do my part to fight online against Trump's tyranny. Shortly thereafter I found a great group of people to "resist" with online and elsewhere. We still talk daily.
A year and a half ago, I met another great group of people through my support of @BetoORourke's Presidential Campaign. I talk to them daily.
Through it all, we've fought together. I wasn't as involved as I wanted to be due to some circumstances I was going through. But I have text banked, went out of my comfort zone and made phone calls, and done more than I ever could have thought I could accomplish politically.
So here we are. Election Day, 2020. The aptly put Battle for the Soul of the Nation. The day we have been fighting to reach for four long years. The day I honestly started to feel would never come.
The Trumpists are going to take early results that go their way and try to claim victory. They're going to take results that aren't going their way and claim fraud. We can't let them. We have to stand up. We won't allow the President* or his allies to steal this election.
We've made it this far, but we need to keep fighting as hard as we have to this point. If you haven't voted yet, GO VOTE! There's nothing more important than exercising that most sacred right. If you've voted already, fight. Do what you can to ensure that EVERY vote is counted.
I'm grateful to have gotten to know as many people as I have over the last few years. I've been uncertain as to the what the results would be. But this morning? This morning I'm feeling a calm. This morning I feel victory in the air.
This Election Day, this Election Week, this Election Month we make our final stand.
Remember, if they try to claim victory before the votes come in.... tell them this.
#FuckYouKeepCounting
If all the votes are counted. We will win, and it will have all been worth it.
