Morning. A reminder that positive tests (CASES, per @cnn) for #Covid have now completely decoupled from deaths. These charts show trends in positive tests versus reported deaths with either a one- or two-week lag. The gap is even greater now than it was in the summer...

We are testing like mad - 10 million tests a week - and finding plenty of coronavirus in the community, but that fact seems to make almost NO difference to the number of people who are dying. It’s almost as if we can make the case trend go however we like.
