Thinking about changing jobs?

If you're one of the many people who see the pandemic as an opportunity to reboot their career and take it a new direction, then we've got six things you need to consider first https://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/consumer-affairs/six-charts-need-see-changing-career/
1️⃣ Which sectors have the most jobs?

Fewer vacancies are being posted everywhere this year, but hiring is picking up in construction, education, logistics, healthcare and property 👇

Finding a job in catering, hospitality and marketing, however, will be more challenging…
2️⃣ The most/least competitive sectors

With a ratio of applicants per job of 62, administration is the most competitive, followed by customer service and marketing 👇

Growing demand for carers, doctors and teachers has meant these areas have become less competitive…
3️⃣ Which skills are employers looking for?

Training, design and strategy are some of the most sought-after skills in jobs currently being advertised via @adzuna 👇

Tech know-how is also popular, as are software and digital skills, and experience using Microsoft Excel…
4️⃣ How much can you expect to earn?

Finance and insurance roles still come out top, with workers seeing average pre-tax earnings of £67,000 a year 👇

Jobs in mining, chemical manufacturing and science also top the charts, with annual earnings of £60,000, £44,000, and £38,500…
Regardless of which industry and role you focus on, research suggests simply making a switch can pay off.

According to @ONS data, employees who move jobs have consistently increased their pay by more than those who stay in one place 👇
5️⃣ Will you earn more as a freelancer?

On earnings alone, freelancers come out on top across all occupational types.

In 2019, freelancers in senior, professional and technical roles earned £21,959 on average each quarter, compared to £10,169 for those in equivalent roles 👇
6️⃣ What about the downsides?

Going freelance, however, comes with a clear trade-off: a lack of guaranteed benefits 👇
