Please make your voice heard by voting today. A few reminders if its an unfamiliar process for you:
1. Even if you live in a "safe" electoral college state, there are many many downballot candidates who would like your support. The League of Womens voters has a well known non partisan guide for each candidate even in local races at http://www.vote411.org
2. Politicians look at which demographic groups show up on election day. Even if your vote wont swing your state's electoral college margins, it is noticed which age groups and demographic groups are "likely voters."
3. If you have registered, you have the right to vote and for your vote to be yours alone. Its a good idea to bring a photo id with you. If you are in line to vote before the polls close, stay in line and you will get to vote. Please report any acts of intimidation to officials.
4. Each state is given the freedom to decide their own election laws. Make sure you know your state's election laws at https://www.findlaw.com/voting.html
5. Finally, voting is a willful act of participation. It validates your psychological sense of community and increases the likelihood of this country forming into the nation you hope it will be.
Im proud of you all. If this years vote was an important moment for you, I would love to hear about it!!
