HK Journalists Association said it's "extremely appalled and angry" with the arrest and urged the police to immediately release Choy Yuk-ling.
RTHK Programme Staff Union said they are still trying to learn about details of Choy Yuk-ling's case and criticized police's handling of making high-profile arrest while giving information about the case as "anonymous sources".
RTHK head Leung Ka-wing concerned if the arrest of Choy Yuk-ling will introduce a chilling effect.

Leung believed the news industry should treat the case seriously if it involves reporting.
