As far as I have seen on this website, most of the predictions on the US election have taken their basis as analysing the nativities of the various candidates.

It is interesting to note the relative lack of the use of the Aries ingress to this end.

A second interesting thing to do would be to analyse what would happen *after* the election. Bonatti (following several Arabic authors) has special lots to be applied to the chart of the moment the ruler is "elevated or introduced", from which the ruler's durability can be found

Here are the relevant pages from Dyke's edition of Bonatti: There are no less than five different parts used for this purpose, some of which are fairly elaborate, involving jupiter-satrun conjunctions &c.

Anyway, for what it's worth, here is the "recipe" for the simplest of Bonatti's rulership lots:
Diurnal: (15 Leo- sun)+(Moon)
Nocturnal (10 Cnc- Moon's position)+(sun)

<But note that there are other interpretations of the lot-- see footnote>

Applying the diurnal calculatui to trump's inauguration chart:
a)
Long sun= 0° Aq 56 -> 300°56'
Long Moon = 9° Sc 22 =>219°52
15° Leo = 135°=>495°
b) <15 leo - sun>
495°-300°56'=194°4'
<b+moon>
c)194°4'+219°52=413°56'= 23Tau56, the diurnal lot's position.

NOTE: if one takes the 15th degree of Leo as counting inclusively (i.e. "The first degree of leo"= 0 leo) then one should project the lot from 14 Leo rather than 15 Leo. If that is the case, then the position of the lot for T's inauguration will be in 22 Tau 56.

If one uses the date of the US presidential inauguration as the basis of the president's "elevation" things get interesting: The date of inauguration is always 20th Jan at Midday, which would in turn make the sun's position somewhere between 29 Cap and 0 Aqu...

... as such, the only thing that would vary is the position of the moon.

Now, the Sun and Moon assume roughly the same positions on identical calendar date 19 years apart (the metonic cycle).

Given in turn that the US presidential elections occur every 4 years, it follows Bonatti's diurnal kingship lot would return to roughly the same place every 19x4=76 years.

But that is not all the story; as every astrologer knows, one is to examine the lot by inspecting...

... which planets aspect the position of the lot itself (eg. if it was square Saturn , trine Jupiter &c) , and the condition of the lot's ruler by sign. These factors depend on other planetary cycles, that fall outside this 76 year cycle I spoke of.

In turn, this is not the whole story. Dykes states that Bonatti's description of the lot is actually a distorted version of that which Al Qabisi describes in his introduction to astrology. Al Qabisi's lot is much more elaborate than Bonatti's, as Burnett & Yamamoto's tr. shows:
