He got mostly lucky with some early military victories, after which he got a vastly overinflated sense of his own war prowess and thought it would be a good idea to INVADE FUCKING RUSSIA even as the top brass knew it was doomed to failure.

The officers who formulated The Plot To Kill Hitler deserve next to no credit because the primary reason they did it was that they perceived they were in a war they couldn’t win led by a drugged-up buffoon who would see the country in flaming rubble before he’d surrender

Hitler sucked. He sucked at leading a country, he sucked at conducting a war, he sucked at launching a coup, he sucked at interpersonal relationships, he sucked at epistemology (dude was SUPER into astrology guiding his choices), and he sucked at art.

Hitler was a fucking loser and anyone who idolizes him is a loser too.

Most people look at the death figures and understandably assume that means he and the people he put in charge were good at it, but they weren’t.

Which is terrifying, because if they had been, imagine what the death toll would be.

I could talk more about precisely why the Holocaust was a disorganized mess but I worry I’d come off as shockingly callous so I won’t. Just trust me, Hitler sucked at that too.
