This thread is brought to you by a former lifelong Republican and a current student of US history. I read an article today that said regardless of who you vote for, you can't say you're on the right side of history. But here's the thing to put in your heart as you go vote:
History is great because IT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED. We CAN SO judge how future history (a weird term, but stick with me) will look at this present time by looking at how our present looks at our history. FUN!

Guess what?
Our history of racism in all its forms? From slavery to 3/5ths to Black Codes to Jim Crow to segregation to housing discrimination?

History says WRONG SIDE.
Xenophobia? From Trail of Tears (which, technically not, but also yes) to the treatment of Irish Catholics to the Chinese Exclusion Act to Japanese internment?

HISTORY SAYS REAL REAL BAD.
Remember when Trump tear-gassed the protestors for his photo-op? NOT NEW. Hoover did that to WWI vets camped outside the White House protesting not being paid, except Hoover cleared them with tear gas AND FIRE.

History says ... BAD. Don't hurt your own people!
The Supreme Court overreaching? History says WAY HARSH, TAI!

Presidents attacking the press? History says EW!

Presidents lying? (Hiya, Nixon and Reagan) History BOOS!

Presidents who have trouble denouncing white supremacy? (Looking at you, Andrew Johnson) History GAGS!
So, no, we can't YET know if a Biden presidency, when it's all done, will come down on the right side of history, but you can put in your pocket and take to the polls this:

Trump is on the wrong side and history will look on him thusly.

Go vote!
