Watched the final rally in Grand Rapids.

Ten events in two days, each in front of crowds of thousands.

Saw a snippet of Alex Berenson on Tucker. Alex was saying that Trump has become an unlikely symbol of community in the covid era...
I think there’s some truth to that. Watching these events I get the sense that it’s about something much more than Trump and his re-election efforts.

It’s just a great slice of Americana. The red hats, the flag bunting, the grassroots chants, even “YMCA” and “God Bless the USA.”
Sailer’s “core vs coalition of fringes” springs to mind

Biden is the perfect candidate for the coalition of the fringes because he’s been running as a generic Democrat, a compromise candidate none of the factions are excited about but all believe they can influence 2 some degree
So the ambiguity and lack of content of “Bidenism” are well suited to the ungainly coalition that makes up the modern Dems.

A Trump rally, in contrast, is a wonderful display of the core.

I think some people on the dissident right are disappointed that Trump’s re-election...

Yeah, it is, and yes, I understand why that’s disappointing.

But you have to meet normies halfway. There’s no point being a chief without Indians...
I mean, who are we trying to save America /for/?

All those people waiting in line to see Trump may not be /our guys/, but they are definitely /our people/. They’re the Core.

And if nothing else I think Trump may be understood as a point of nucleation...
