I’m going to do a thread on my views when it comes to voting based on Christian values. Haven’t done a thread in a while. I think some Christians who haven’t voted might need this. Take what you will regardless. Disclaimer: I’m not going to argue about this with anyone.
I’ve learned something in my walk with God. I’ve voted based on Christian values in the past and let me tell you, it doesn’t stop the real issue. We can vote based on our beliefs and values but sin will still remain present.
We can vote against sin but it will still create issues in other areas. Realize this, we can vote against sin but that will not eliminate people’s free will. People will still choose to offend God. They will choose to do illegal things.
God gave every man free will. Somehow we think we are doing God a favor by voting based on Christian values. When it reality people are still going to offend God in every other way even if there are few laws in favor of Christianity.
Voting does not equal evangelism. We need to vote but until we actually evangelize with the love of Christ we are actually and literally just trying force Christianity on people. God said with loving-kindness have I drawn thee. Not force.
The bottom line is that we aren’t doing our job if we think voting based on Christian values is really making a big change. We need to see the big picture. You have a bigger job child of God, do it.
