portland maine ppl if tomorrow someone goes through the line and says “if you’re not registered come with me and skip the line!” STAY FUCKING PUT. DO NOT GO WITH THEM. YOU CAN REGISTER INSIDE WHEN THEY CHECK ALL UR STUFF. DO NOT LOSE YOUR PLACE IN LINE.

they also might try to convince you to leave altogether. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T. MAINE HAS SAME DAY REGISTRATION. no matter what, keep your place in line and do not leave. dress warm. bring snacks and hand warmers and stuff. move around every so often to keep the blood flowing.

there was a person doing this when i voted early trying to get ppl that weren’t registered out of the line but i stayed put bc i know my rights. and if for whatever reason once you’re inside they deny your registration, request a provisional ballot.

they have to give it to you. even if you’re not registered. if any of you have any questions on what you need to register same day pls do not hesitate to ask me my dm box is open and i’m more than willing to help u all through it

also a reminder that even if you are a student in maine living in a dorm YOU CAN STILL VOTE HERE. registering to vote here does not change anything like your dependency status or financial aid or health insurance or what have you.

if you’re a student what you need to register to vote here is a proof of enrollment form from your school signed by the registrar and a photo ID. i also brought a copy of my tuition bill as a backup.
