The B.C. government has announced 1,120 cases of #COVID19 over the past three days — each of them with numbers higher than anytime during this pandemic.

Active cases to a record-high 2,945.

Six new deaths, hospitalizations up to 90.

Today's chart.
75% of the #COVID19 cases in B.C. over the weekend were in Fraser Health, home of 39% of the province's population
B.C.'s rolling average of daily new cases over the past week is more than 300 for the first time in the pandemic — a doubling in just 15 days
I hate to keep harping on Fraser Health.

But if it had the same amount of cases relative to population as the rest of British Columbia, it would have had 190 cases in the last three days.

Instead, it was 830.
In this press conference, deputy provincial health officer Dr. Réka Gustafson said they were working to provide detailed neighbourhood information "in as visually appealing way" as soon as possible.

Or maybe the government could just provide the data. Period.

Just a thought.
The tension between some people in B.C. calling for a further "crackdown" on certain events and businesses, and the government saying data shows transmission happens predominately in private events in Fraser Health, is going to continue for as long as that data is private
That's at the heart of the tension here — the government is showing top-level data showing cases exploding across B.C.

When you dig into the numbers, it's incredibly concentrated in one area, with evidence showing it comes from events that are harder to regulate.
It's important for people to believe their efforts are making an impact.

If people are seeing cases seemingly explode across the province, and don't have data showing their efforts are making a difference, it becomes harder for them to keep up confidence, and routines.
Anyways, the next time we'll have a press conference on #COVID19 in B.C. isn't until Thursday.

We won't get new weekly numbers on regional numbers until then either.

Numbers on a city-wide level will maybe come in two weeks?

Also, we no longer receive the daily positive rate.
