Kate Bingham, is head of the corona vaccine task force. She’s a venture capitalist married to Conservative minister Jesse Norman, and was appointed by Boris Johnson. She combines leading the taskforce with being managing director of SV Health Investors, a private equity firm.
One of the major flaws that has been identified in #Trump ‘s disastrous response to #COVID19 is his appointments business people and those who agree ideologically to positions on importance in #TrackandTrace and vaccines. @BorisJohnson is doing the same. It is also failing.
Appointing business people shows that it is seen as a business opportunity. Appointing people with experience from science and medicine shows the govt see it as a medical and scientific challenge.
