As British Columbians wait with varying degrees of trepidation for the live #covid19bc briefing from @bcgov today at 3 p.m., your periodic reminder from me that: 1. We should not be limited to only two live briefs per week on Mon and Thurs; 1/
2. We should have access to full transcripts of all #covid19bc briefs, *including* q&a from journos, in the interests of maximum #transparency & #accountability; 3. We should have a *full* & specific accounting of all #bced school exposure events in daily live/written briefs; 2/
4. We should have access to #covid19bc case counts on a daily basis every day of the week. We should not have to wait until Monday to hear about the 3 24-hour periods elapsed since Friday, or Tuesday after a long weekend to hear about 4 24-hour periods; 3/
5. All of these things are becoming even more critical as #covid19bc case numbers & #bced school exposures continue to rise, & in the absence of a @bcgov mask mandate for classrooms/indoor spaces & lack of impactful enforcement of measures already in place; 4/
6. It's been a long time since many in BC have been able to "be calm", bc despite doing our utmost to "be safe", we often have no control over env'ts in which we/our families must operate & gov't isn't giving us tools to mitigate it. We don't feel safe bc we know we're not. 5/fin
