When I went to vote in NYC on Friday they asked for my ID. ID isn’t required. Then they were confused because I am read as male on my ID (and have an “M” gender marker) but with a mask I am often read as female. Confused the person said “this is you? I thought you were a woman”

I took off my mask to show him thinking that was the beat way to get in and out of there. There were no problems and I am approximately 1000% over everything - and definitely too over it to care. But many trans people are turned away because their IDs don’t match how they look.

We make voting so difficult and stressful. Thinking of everyone who is trying to vote but being blocked or harassed or denied the right. Onward to more and actual justice.
