It does appear that the Government has decided that the Catholic Hierarchy of England and Wales are an annoying irrelevancy, who don’t deserve an answer to the heartfelt question from the Bishop’s conference as to what evidence there is that the resumption of Catholic worship,,,
has in any way “whatsoever” contributed to the spread of Covid19. When one takes into account all the precautions we have put in place (in accordance with Public Health England guidelines).
Nevertheless we are grateful that the Government has allowed the Churches to remain open for “individual prayer”.

Fr David will be praying an individual mass at a side altar, which is the highest prayer of the Church, which priests are encouraged to pray every day if possible. It will be a private individual prayer.. and hopefully won’t disturb your individual prayers too much....
You may of course individually decide to unite your prayers with the sacrifice of the Mass (that is your individual choice). After Fr David has offered Mass those who individually choose to do so may come forward for holy Communion,
which Cardinal Sarah (the head of the Congregation for Divine Worship) has said no one can stop a priest from administering. Then there will be exposition for an hour… during which Fr David will be available for confession if anyone should individually choose that option.
We will of course continue to observe social distancing and mask wearing and our sanitising procedures which have made us (and continue to make the Catholic Church) one of the most Covid secure places in existence.
This does mean that when the Church is full you may have to be turned away… so please be patient.
