The jihad in Europe continues. There are many political philosophies to discuss and debate but unless they end this suicidal refugee and immigration program that does not care about education, beliefs, respect for women and other religions when it comes to screening its pointless

Cultural and civilisational imprints and affinity are not immutable, but when you are speaking about timelines as short a few decades they can make all the difference. All the defense of individual liberties will mean nothing if your societies are overwhelmed with intolerant men.

Indian Punjabis and Bengalis integrate better than Pakistani Punjabis and Bangladeshis on average in the UK for example. It isn’t even close. Hindus especially integrate like sugar in water even if they do not fully assimilate. They represent the best of small m multiculturalism.

No society can be fully policed by the state though some like ours definitely need more of it (some may need a bit less.)

Ultimately without a common national or civilisational culture, rather ground rules (culture and civilisation are different but anyway) it will be difficult.

The stark reality is that prosecuting and preventing terrorism does flirt with collective punishment and various other “tricks” that in a normal context would and should make us uncomfortable. The extent varies yes. If there are enough men ready to die, it sadly ends up being so.

Unfortunately if you look at all this deeply enough, it becomes very clear that nothing is crystal clear. Everything is complex. Something may look as necessary but not sufficient - but look again and it seems counter productive. But we can improve in many ways across the board.

As a general rule, separation of religious paths and state is a good idea. So is free speech, yes. But there are footnotes everywhere. The French are doing what they are because they have rightly interpreted the killings as a war cry. They have been challenged in their own homes.

We in India start with greater disadvantage. But we are trying to catch up and I remain optimistic. The first thing to do was to integrate Kashmir and build a grand temple of Ram. Along with CAA this is a statement of intent. That we do not plan to be overwhelmed in our own home.

The real fascist-supremacist movement in India and its subcontinent rightly sees this Dharmic assertion as an existential threat. The tragic Delhi riots therefore surprised no body though the killings remain shocking. We will see if there is clarity on this- in Bihar. First, USA.
