Fred - Manchester United

There´s no question Fred has the ability to perform at a very high level. The problem is the consistency, not only over time, but also match to match in his performance levels. These 2 matches pictured above occurred in the span of 5 days. He was almost a different player in each

match. United´s system of preference for both matches was a 4-diamond-2. However, against Leipzig he was utilised on the right side of the diamond & against Arsenal at the base of the diamond.

While he can do a job as a holding midfielder, I think he performs better in a double pivot as opposed to a single pivot. Or as a midfield runner where he is allowed to be more proactive in his positioning and defend on the front foot.
